Court Monitoring
Court monitors are responsible for collecting and observing the court system. Skills/Training Requirements: background check, good listening skills, completion of MADD orientation and Court Monitoring training, and daytime availability. For more information go to the Court Monitoring page.
Roll Call Briefings
Volunteers are responsible for conducting outreach to MADD’s partners in law enforcement by addressing officers and expressing appreciation of the community and victims we represent. Volunteers must be comfortable speaking to groups. Skills/Training Requirements: background check, completion of MADD orientation and message training, ability to communicate effectively, must have good public speaking skills, and evening and weekend availability.
Sobriety Checkpoints
Support law enforcement with checkpoints. Duties usually involve brief contact with the public as they come through and providing food and/or beverages to law enforcement. Skills/Training Requirements: background check, good interpersonal skills, comfortable dealing with the public, completion of MADD orientation and training provided by law enforcement agency and evening and weekend availability.
Law Enforcement Recognition
Volunteers assist MADD in recognizing law enforcement officers by hosting/serving/coordinating recognition events in their communities. Skills/Training Requirements: background check, completion of MADD orientation, good interpersonal skills, outgoing personality, and good organizational skills.
